Welcome to Living Word Family Church

At Living Word Family Church, we base our teaching upon God’s revealed Word, the Bible, and are committed to serve Him in the name of Jesus Christ. It is our desire that people come to place their trust in Christ, and continually grow in their relationship with Him.

We provide regular teaching and preaching from the Bible, meaningful times of worship, and opportunities for fellowship, prayer, outreach and numerous other ministries for people of all ages. Our extensive Children’s Ministry serves all those nursery age through high school. If you're seeking a church home, we gladly welcome you to all that Living Word Family Church has to offer.

  • childrenFrom the very beginning, we have seen the vital importance of ministering to the entire family, not just the adults. Because of this, we put a high priority on Children’s Ministry. Every area of our children’s department is designed to teach and train. We supply quality equipment and Bible-based curriculum for all age groups and are continually encouraging our teachers and helpers to recognize that in ministering to the children we are ministering to the entire family. A staff of capable volunteers are recruited from our congregation to teach and train these young ones.

When the Heat is on, Get Growing

I write this on the morning of the second day of VBS. VBS is what I'd LIKE to write about for this newsletter, since by the time you read it, VBS 2016 will be in the books, but publishing deadlines mean I must put that off until next month, by which time you will have heard all about it anyway. All I can say now is that we are off to a WONDERFUL start! Meanwhile…

It's hot. It's REALLY hot. Hot and humid. Gross. In other words, it's a typical central Illinois summer. Most of you know how I feel about that. Putting it mildly, I prefer cooler weather. In fact, I prefer cold weather to hot weather. But I'm not going to lie; I don't want to live at the north pole or anything like that. Even though for the most part I enjoy winter more than I enjoy summer, I find myself looking forward to warmer tem-peratures as winter moves along. That is one of the nicest things about where we live: four seasons.
